Mobile Application for Recording of Compulsive Behavior

The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to design, implement and test mobile application for iOS platform. It will be used to monitor drug and psychical addiction. The app can help the user to see his progress over time, patterns and triggers of its addictive behavior and guide him to the right direction towards abstinence. It is here to understand the user's problems, motivate and give a helping hand. Important aspects in the development were the study of programming of mobile applications, existing solutions, research of the target group of users, theory of addictology and therapy, design and implementation with understandable user interface, testing of results on real users.
Employability of graduates of the follow-up master's programme in addictology with an original bachelor's degree in another field

Background: The follow-up Master's programme in Addictology was first opened in the academic year 2010/2011. Applicants from the graduates of the bachelor's programme in addictology as well as graduates of other bachelor's programmes are eligible to apply. Miovsky et al. (2021) give examples of applicants from related fields such as psychology, social work or general nursing. Candidates studying the programme do not gain eligibility to practise as an addictologist; it is an interest-based study. The employability of graduates of the master's degree in addictology alone has not yet been mapped separately. Pavlovska (2018) examined in detail the employability of all graduates of addictology from 2008 to 2016. The study expands on this work by specifically focusing on the employability of master's-only graduates with an original bachelor's degree in another discipline and adds data through January 2023. Aims: The aim of the research is to map the employability of graduates of a follow-up Master's programme in Addictology with an original Bachelor's degree in another discipline. Background: The Czech addiction treatment system is closely connected with the creation and development of the Apolinar model and with the name of Jaroslav Skála. Without a doubt, other people from the team around Jaroslav Skála had a great influence on the form of treatment and the entire treatment model, especially Skála's long-time work and life partner Arnoštka Maťová. Targets: Create a basic overview of Arnoštka Maťová's professional life and her contribution to the treatment of alcohol addiction. Methodology: A content analysis of written materials from publicly available sources and some publicly available audio-visual recordings was carried out. Results: Arnoštka Maťová was one of the founders of the systematic treatment of alcohol addiction in the Czech Republic. She worked at Apolinar since 1950, i.e. almost from the very beginning, and undoubtedly participated in the creation and development of the Apolinar model of addiction. Motivation of graduates of the bachelor's study programme Addictology to work in addiction treatment services

Background: A study programme Addictology was first opened in the academic year of 2005/2006. The profession of addictologist was enshrined in legislation by the Act No. 96/2004, of paramedical professions, in 2007. Thus, graduates in bachelor's degree in addictology became healthcare professionals gaining qualification to exercise this profession (Miovský et al., 2021). Job motivation represents a psychological process bringing energy and giving direction to work of a person. Motivation to choose and remain in helping professions is the topic of many specialised publications in Czech and foreign literature but minimum number of those focusing on motivation for work in addiction treatment services. Addictology as a field of study is specific not only by its historical context and development, but also by its scope and specialization. This might be also influential in specificity of motivation of workers to enter and stay working in the services. Needs analysis of workers of Probation and Mediation Service in Prague on further education in the addictology field

Background: The Probation and Mediation Service (PMS) deals with offenders of criminal activity, some of whom also have addictive behavior. The addiction of the offender is considered as a significant risk factor for criminal recidivism. According to the PMS annual report, there has been an increase in the proportion of the drug crime by 2-3 percentage points per year since 2017, to 26 % in 2021. Working with addicted offenders requires specific knowledge and skills. Objectives: The thesis has the objective to identify and analyze the current needs of further education of probation officers of the Prague centre in the field of addictology. The partial objective is to find out how - according to respondents - the proportion of offenders of criminal activity with addiction problems is and its comparison with official statistics. Methods: The data was collected in the form of a questionnaire survey. The research sample included 32 probation officers from the Prague centre (out of 41 in total). Background: The study of general medicine aims to equip a future medical practitioner with the knowledge and experience they will need in their future practice. The physician should master the methods of Orientational diagnostics and Brief intervention in the field of substance abuse and addiction. A marginal part of the time is donated to this topic as part of undergraduate studies. Aim: The purpose of this study is to find out the level of certainty of the students of the 1st Faculty of Medicine in their knowledge regarding Orientational diagnostics, Brief intervention and to find out the student's attitude toward addictology. The partial goal is to find out what the students need to gain confidence in providing care to addiction patients. Methods: The research was conducted using an anonymous survey. The survey was shared on the social network Facebook in six individual private groups of medical students. The resulting data were statistically processed using Microsoft Office Excel and Microsoft Word. Screening for impairment and design of a rehabilitation program for executive function in substance abusers from the perspective of an addictionologist

Background: The entire research is based on the hypothesis that due to regular and long-term abuse of addictive psychotropic substances, the risk of damage to executive and cognitive functions in a given user increases. If a deficit develops, very often there is a decrease in the quality of life of the individual. The addictologist should be able to notice a deficit in his patients and, if confirmed, also intervene in the right way. Aim: The aim of the research is to create a proposal for two cognitive rehabilitation programs that could be implemented in clinical work with addictological patients. If an executive or cognitive deficit is detected in a patient, the selected programs should be able to provide high- quality and effective rehabilitation. In this way, each of the programs could bring a higher quality of life in selected patients. Another aim of the diploma thesis is to test the selected research set for damage to executive functions. The first aim of this thesis is to find the role of occupational therapist in work with an addiction in the Czech Republic. The work is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The first theoretical part defines addiction with dependence factors, system of an addiction care, relationship between occupational therapy and addictology, role of occupational therapist in a multidisciplinary team and possibilities of intervention that occupational therapists have in work with these patients.
